Wetland Research Raw Data (NC DWR)
North Carolina Wetlands Research Raw Data (NC DWR)
Data have been collected from North Carolina wetlands by the NC Division of Water Resources (NC DWR, part of the NC Department of Environmental Quality) since 2004. Included in these data tables are data collected by North Carolina State University from 2015-2018 on some of the same sites sampled by NC DWR.
Over 200 wetland sites have been sampled, but the information collected at each site varied depending on the purpose of the research project. Water quality, water level (hydrology), soil, plant, macroinvertebrate, and amphibian data have been collected at multiple sites. Downloadable excel files of data are provided below. (Please check back as more data tables will be added as compilation of the data is completed.)
This data table includes raw water quality data collected, including water temperature, dissolved oxygen, fecal coliform, total suspended solids, ammonium, nitrates+nitrites, metals (e.g., copper, zinc, metal), etc. when collected. [In the table Tab 1 defines the data in each column of the table, Tab 2 contains the raw data.] (Site location information can be found in “NC DWR Wetland Site Description Data”.)
This data table includes raw macroinvertebrate data collected. It includes observed organisms’ taxon order, family, genus, species (when available), life stage, number of individuals observed, and sample method. (Site location information can be found in “NC DWR Wetland Site Description Data”.)
